Slovenia is rolling out its first-ever Digital Nomad Visa on November 21, 2025, for remote workers from non EU/EEA countries.
It grants a 12-month stay for those working exclusively for foreign employers or clients, either as employees, contractors, or freelancers.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, you must:
- Be a citizen outside the EU/EEA
- Work only for foreign-based employers or clients
- Meet a minimum income requirement (estimated at around €3,200/month, roughly double Slovenia’s average net salary of €1,600) – If you are looking for a digital nomad visa with lower income requirements, check out the Bulgarian Digital Nomad Visa where the income requirement is closer to €2,000/month
- Maintain valid health insurance, have a clean criminal record, and provide proof of accommodation in Slovenia
You can also bring family members, but they cannot work in Slovenia.
Duration & Renewal
- Valid for 12 months, non-renewable
- After it expires, you must spend at least six months outside Slovenia before reapplying
